What does it do?
It’s a portable speaker that pumps out amazing sound (yes bass!) for its price.
The Wonderboom by UE is a Bluetooth speaker that produces amazing sound for its size, is waterproof, offers 360 degree sound and multipoint pairing.
It’s a speaker that can handle a few knocks and bumps. The Wonderboom is rated IPX7 which means it can be submerged in water (up to 1 metre) for up to 30 minutes. It floats in water which could be handy if your drop it into your pool. It feels lovely to hold and it doesn’t feel fragile. I’ve seen video of people literally throwing it up in the air like a ball. I don’t recommend doing this, however, it is an indication of it’s durability.
The Wonderboom offers true 360 degree sound which means it projects sounds upward and out from every side. If a group of people are having a picnic, sitting around in a circle. Place the UE Wonderboom speaker in the centre of the circle, then everyone will have the same listening experience.
It comes in six different colours. Find out more details on UE’s website.
The UE Wonderboom 2 has been released. This is also a great speaker but it means the original Wonderboom will be selling at a reduced price and it really is a fantastic speaker.
How it compares to the Go by JBL
The Wonderboom has a much better sound, it is water proof and can be paired to other Wonderboom speakers. The JBL Go is smaller in size, lighter and can be used as a phone speaker. It is also half the price of the UE Wonderboom and is no match in sound quality due to it’s physical size.
Australia: AU$84 – $129.
Note: These prices were found online in November 2019 and will change over time.
